A rare & unique one-off bronze & glass brutalist German floor lamp.
Attributed to Lothar Klute this individually brilliant lamp stands at approximately 154 cm high and is in excellent condition.
Lothar Klute was born in 1946 and trained as a blacksmith and sculptor. Klute's work often features organic shapes and textures, with a focus on the interplay between the solid bronze and forged iron and the translucent cast glass.
His brutalist work incorporates heavy, raw and solid forms focusing on texture and the organic materials in use. His work often involves pieces shaped by the natural world suck as animals and flowers.
He has a sculpture centre and smithy called Galerie Klute in der Waldemai, located on the site of an old slate mine near Schmallenberg, Germany.
He created several public sculptures in Berlin in the 1970s and his work is now highly sought after all over the world.
