Cotswold School Arts & Crafts Mirror.

A wonderful “Cotswold School” swing / toilet attributed to one of the finest hands in the arts & crafts furniture making world; Ernest Gimson.

Crafted from Sycamore with a framed mirror that is supported between two slab sides with chip carved ornament above two drawers both with half round shaped handles, typical of the Cotswold school handle design.

Gimson was an English furniture designer and architect whose work can be seen in many national trust properties and in the V&A here in London. He amassed a reputation that established him as one of the most influential designers of the English Arts and Crafts movement in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
