Cotswold School Arts & Crafts Mirror.

A wonderful “Cotswold School” swing mirror finely crafted from Sycamore wood.

The framed mirror is supported between two slab sides with chip carved ornament and sits above two drawers, both with half round shaped handles, typical of the Cotswold school handle design and very much in the manner of Ernest Gimson or his fellow workshop contemporaries.

Gimson was an English furniture designer and architect whose work can be seen in many national trust properties and in the V&A here in London. He amassed a reputation that established him as one of the most influential designers of the English Arts and Crafts movement in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
