Early Welsh spoon / candle holder

A wonderful piece of vernacular furniture used widely across Great Britain in the 18th & 19th centuries.

These little wall shelves were commonly used to hold candles, spoons, soap and salt to keep them off the floor and away from vermin in the cottages.

Approximately 20 cm wide x 22 cm high x 10 cm deep.

This particular example has a lovely patination to it and was sourced privately on the Welsh borders.
