Gothic Revival Chest Of Drawers

A large Gothic Revival chest of drawers in the manner of Charles Bevan.

A deep rich mahogany colour is accentuated by the chamfered flanks and the wonderful delicate band of intricate inlay around the upper portions of the two over four deep graduating drawers. Completed with all original brass escutcheons, original turned handles and raised on a delicate stepped plinth. 

English circa 1870 & in excellent condition.

Charles Bevan (c.1815–1891) was a British furniture designer known for his bold contributions to the Gothic Revival and Aesthetic movements and is widely regarded as the best of this period.

Charles Bevan worked with / for many leading names of the English furniture industry, with recognisable manufacturers such as Marsh, Jones & Cribb, Lamb & Gillows.
