George II (18th Century) Burr Yew Tripod Table.

An exceptional mid-18th century English yew-wood tripod table, the circular snap-top having a boldly moulded and reeded edge above a finely turned and ring-turned burr yew column, raised on three elegantly swept cabriole legs terminating in characteristic burr yew pad feet.

With yew being the most sought after of woods in furniture, it’s wonderful yet no surprise that the table retains a rich, warm colour and lustrous old surface, with excellent figuring and natural character throughout.
