This is only the second time we’ve had this exact blanket (it’s from our personal collection to be quite honest).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVery folk art style traditional colours of red blue \u0026amp; cream on a dark background.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDefinitely one for the collectors out there.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e”For over 150 years, the woollen industry was central to village life in Penmachno.\u003cbr\u003eIn 1839 a fulling mill was established there on land, near the river Machno, owned by the Penrhyn Estate. Known in Welsh as a pandy, it was converted into a woollen mill in 1894 by the leaseholder, Hannah Jones and her sons.\u003cbr\u003eBy 1913 the family had purchased the freehold which enabled them to develop the site. In that year, the mill was rebuilt and new machinery installed. The Joneses and their staff produced woven blankets and cloth at Penmachno until 1968.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe business was sold to Craftcentre Cymru in 1974 who revitalised the traditional weaving designs of Hannah Jones \u0026amp; Sons.
